“I have published poems, magazine articles, short stories, and personal essays in the past. Lately however, I have felt discouraged about my writing. Although I have written one novel (unpublished) and am about ¾ finished with another, my efforts at writing them are discouraging at times. So your applause for my opening gives me hope. .... It’s fun and enlightening to comb through my story for the answers to each lesson and really get to know what I have done in the story, good or bad. Thank you.” - Beulah Hooper

Know Thy Story
Twelve Questions Every Storyteller Must Answer

Elizabeth Guy, Instructor

Is your story ready to venture out into the vast, uncertain world of publishing? Let's find out!

This online class is designed to explore the overall shape of your work by focusing on the essential elements that appear in all great stories. But unlike our standard in-depth Opinions, which require months to perform, this class allows you the opportunity to receive snippets of Opinion at a much faster pace.

As soon as you enroll, you'll receive your first question via email. This is an open class, with no deadlines. So you decide when you want to reply. You'll be asked, in most instances, to also provide specific samples from your manuscript.

After Elizabeth reviews your responses, she'll send feedback and suggestions, if needed. The next question will immediately follow.

This is the ultimate checklist for any completed story. By the end of the course, after you've answered all twelve questions, you'll not only know the essential elements of great storytelling, you'll see them in yours!

Start Date: Ongoing.
Duration: Up to you.
Materials: A completed story.

"I've taken many online classes, but I've never got the sort of feedback you deliver. It's more like an in-depth conversation. You answer my emails promptly and respect what I'm trying to say.
